Information for Participating Artists

Eligibility: The Martin Arts Guild invites Martin County artists, ages 18 and older, to submit up to 5 images of original fine art/fine craft for consideration. Submitted work must have been completed within the past three years, and must not be from a kit nor created in a class. Artists are responsible for any copyright infringement. A “Martin County” artist is defined as one who lives within or has working studio space within Martin County, FL.

The event will be limited to 30 locations.

Original work in any of the following media: oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, pastel, sculpture, fiber, jewelry, or ceramic.

Specifications: Only online entries with digitally uploaded images will be accepted. Images must be high quality digital files, sized to 3000 pixels on the long side. A short (250 words or less) bio should be submitted as part of your entry. Incomplete applications, applications without images, and/or applications for which the entry fee is not received will not be considered by the Jury.

Deadline: Online entry is limited to the first 100 applications received before midnight, local time, September 15, 2017.

Fees: Each participating artist will pay a fee totaling $250 (regular registration) $200 (early bird registration) and a $15 application fee.

Application Fee: The $15 Application Fee shall be considered membership for the Martin Arts Guild.

Martin Arts Guild: Members of the guild are not required to participate, but all participants must be members of the Guild. Guild members will have opportunities for additional art venues and events throughout the year.

Early Birds: Entries received before midnight, July 31, qualify for a discount of $50, bringing the fee to $200.

Jury for inclusion: All applications will be juried, regardless of prior participation. The Jury consists of the current year Steering Committee.

Additional Requirements: Artists must be available for approximately 4 hours of volunteer activity related to the event, or pay the Volunteer Opt-Out fee of $50 in advance. Artists must agree to follow MCOST event procedures, including keeping studio open during all tour hours, use of sign-in sheets, and attendance at artist meetings.

For artists with shared studio space, all artists with visible work at the location must register OR work by unregistered artists must be removed prior to the tour. If it is discovered that an unregistered artist is present at your location (and showing his/her work) during tour hours, your website listing will be removed and you will be unable to participate in any future tour event.
